At Prologue, we honour the changes your body has carried you through, especially those that come with growth, pregnancy, or healing. Stretch marks are a natural part of life for many, but they can also affect how you feel in your skin.
If you’re looking to smooth your skin or support your healing after pregnancy or a body transformation, our noninvasive treatments are designed to gently renew and restore your skin’s elasticity.
Our two key offerings—Exion Body and Shockwave Therapy—work with your body’s natural repair mechanisms to fade and smooth stretch marks without the need for surgery, downtime, or harsh ingredients.
Stretch marks—also known as striae—are a form of dermal scarring that occurs when the skin stretches or shrinks rapidly, leading to tiny tears in the dermis. These tears disrupt collagen and elastin fibres, resulting in streak-like lines that can vary in colour, texture, and depth.
They’re incredibly common—particularly during pregnancy, puberty, weight fluctuations, and muscle gain—and affect up to 70% of adolescent girls and most women during or after pregnancy.
Common areas include:
When the skin stretches faster than these collagen and elastin fibres in the skin can adapt, microscopic tears form in the dermis, leading to stretch marks.
Initially, stretch marks may appear pink, red, purple, or even dark brown, depending on your skin tone. Over time, they typically fade into white or silvery lines, also known as striae alba.
There are several types of stretch marks, each representing different stages or underlying causes:
1
Striae Rubrae
Early stretch marks that appear in shades of red, pink, or even purple. Their colour comes from dilated blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface. At this stage, they may feel slightly raised or itchy—signs that the skin is still inflamed and actively changing.
2
Striae Albae
As stretch marks mature, they fade into pale shades of white or silver. These older marks often feel flatter or slightly sunken and can have a wrinkled, textured appearance. By this point, collagen breakdown has already occurred, making them harder to treat.
3
Striae Gravidarum
This term refers to stretch marks that appear during pregnancy, usually on the belly, breasts, and thighs as the belly, breasts, and thighs expand. Hormonal shifts—especially increased cortisol—play a significant role in how and where they form.
4
Striae Nigrae / Caerulea
Darker-toned stretch marks—ranging from deep brown to purple or bluish—are more commonly seen in individuals with deeper skin tones. Melanin levels and vascular activity in the skin influence their colour.
5
Striae Atrophicans
These stretch marks tend to be thinner, more fragile, and are often associated with medical conditions that affect skin structure, such as Cushing’s syndrome or inherited connective tissue disorders. They can also appear after long-term use of corticosteroids, which suppress collagen production and lead to thinning of the skin.
Though they’re often mistaken for each other, stretch marks and cellulite have different causes and appearances.
Stretch Marks are internal tears in the dermis caused by rapid skin stretching, often forming lines or streaks.
Cellulite occurs when fat pushes through weakened connective tissue beneath the skin, resulting in a dimpled or uneven texture.
At Prologue, we offer treatments that can address one or both, depending on your needs. Exion Body and Shockwave Therapy are versatile enough to treat stretch marks, cellulite, or both in combination.
At Prologue, we offer two noninvasive treatments: Exion Body and Shockwave Therapy (also known as Acoustic Wave Therapy).
Both treatments are gentle and suitable for all skin types, making them safe and effective solutions for anyone looking to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
Exion Body uses monopolar radiofrequency and ultrasound to stimulate collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid—the building blocks of healthy, firm skin.
It delivers heat deep into the skin without damaging the surface, making it a gentle and robust solution for smoothing stretch marks.

Shockwave Therapy, also known as Acoustic Wave Treatment, uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate collagen production and cellular renewal.
Initially developed for physical therapy, it’s now used in aesthetics for skin remodelling, particularly for reducing the appearance of stretch marks and cellulite.

Stretch marks are a sign of your body’s growth, strength, and change, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with them forever.
At Prologue, we offer science-backed stretch mark removal treatments that are gentle, effective, and designed to help you feel confident in your skin again. Exion Body and Shockwave Therapy both offer natural-looking results that evolve and endure, especially when complemented with good skincare and a healthy lifestyle.
Everyone’s skin journey is different. Our experienced team will assess your skin type, the severity of your stretch marks, and your overall goals to recommend a tailored plan.
In many cases, both treatments may be used in tandem or sequentially, offering complementary benefits for enhanced results.
Both options are noninvasive, require no downtime, and are suitable for all skin tones, including sensitive and postpartum skin. Most clients begin to notice improvements within just a few sessions.
To get optimal and lasting results from your treatment, it’s essential to support your skin from the inside out. Stay well hydrated and make sunscreen and moisturiser a daily habit, especially with gentle lotions or body oils that keep your skin supple.
And of course, always follow the aftercare advice provided to ensure your skin heals beautifully.
Not entirely. While massage, hydration, and maintaining skin elasticity can help reduce the severity of stretch marks, natural methods cannot completely remove them. Clinical treatments offer far more visible results.
Bio oil may help with hydration and skin appearance, especially for newer marks. However, it’s not effective for deeper or older stretch marks and cannot rebuild collagen the way Exion Body or Shockwave can.
Stretch marks are technically scars, so they don’t disappear entirely, but they can be significantly reduced in colour, texture, and visibility with treatment.
Shockwave Therapy and Exion Body are generally not recommended during pregnancy, but can be started during the postpartum period. Always consult your doctor.
Not at all. Most clients find the sensations soothing, similar to those of a deep tissue massage or tapping.
Nope. You can walk out of your appointment and continue with your day.
You may start seeing improvements within a few sessions. Results continue to improve over time.
Common treatment zones include the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttocks, upper arms, and breasts, especially after pregnancy or weight fluctuations.

Jodie has been such a great help in my health journey! She really took the time to help me understand my body and gave super practical tips that actually fit into my daily routine. I learned so much about portion control, and I love how she explained how nutrition and exercise can be adjusted around the menstrual cycle — it made everything click for me. She’s knowledgeable, approachable, and easy to talk to. I feel a lot more confident now about making choices that work for me. Highly recommend her!

Prologue Wellness takes a truly holistic approach to weight management and well-being. Instead of quick fixes, they focus on educating clients about proper nutrition, helping us build sustainable habits that improve both health and quality of life.
I also love their Clinical Core & Flow programme, which combines physiotherapy, Pilates, and yoga. It creates a supportive environment for women of all fitness levels.
On top of that, they offer innovative non-invasive treatments like Exion Body, Vanquish Me, and EmBody. These complement their holistic programmes perfectly by supporting body contouring, fat reduction, and muscle strengthening in a safe, effective way.
The team, especially Jodie, Shonia and Serene, are professional, caring, and genuinely invested in their clients’ well-being. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place that integrates science, movement, and holistic care.

The struggles of postpartum recovery are real, and I’m so thankful to have found Prologue, a women’s wellness centre that truly understands and supports mothers like me.
Like many postpartum mums, I’ve been dealing with diastasis recti, a bulging tummy that makes me look pregnant, urinary incontinence that limits my activity with my kids, and difficulty losing pregnancy weight due to stress eating and late nights.
Since starting my personalised treatment plan here, I’ve seen real improvements. Weekly sessions with my nutritionist, Jodie, have helped me eat in a balanced and sustainable way. Physiotherapy sessions with Chloe and Jodie have strengthened my core and pelvic floor, while the Emsella chair has improved my incontinence. Embody treatments are helping with my DR, shockwave therapy is reducing bloating and stretch marks, and Exion Body treatments are tightening loose skin.
I’m truly grateful for the professional, encouraging, and caring team at Prologue who have supported me every step of the way. Highly recommended to any postpartum mother looking to recover, rebuild, and regain confidence.

Would highly highly recommend this place to postpartum ladies. Other than the many machine services to help with various issues such as DR, weak pelvic floor muscles and loose skin, they also have trained nutritionist and physiotherapist to help provide a holistic recovery experience! Truly glad that Proloque team has helped to resolved my DR and I have seen improvements in my core and pelvic floor muscles! Lastly, the space here is nicely done up and the team of ladies here are very friendly and professional.
